The
Light Factory
Community Charter School is partnering
with The
Light Factory
through a grant with the North Carolina Arts Council.
Students in
grades K-3 will create and produce a documentary through the use of
still photography. Students and school personnel are
collaborating as equal partners along with representatives from
partnering organizations to develop a activities that educate students
about nonfiction narrative storytelling, still photography, and a
subject designated by student interests in one additional content
area. CCS educators will work in onsite teams to assist
students
in two multi-grade level classrooms with project
implementation.
Over the course of the year, students will generate four documentary
projects using photography.
